SUMMARY

  • How did I manage to unlock movies on Netflix? — I used Surfshark.
  • Is this a free service? — No, but you can have it for what I can say is a minimal fee.
  • Is it worth it? — Absolutely!
  • Is it easy to set up? — Yep.

To give it to you right away, I already provided the summary above so you won’t have to read the whole article. But if you’d like to dive right into the details, read on!

Some narration…

After a year into lockdown, you might be really considering when the pandemic is going to end. We all have different ways to cope during this isolation and I can confidently say that I am not the only one binge-watching movies, documentaries, and series.

By now, I have exhausted every good movie and series there is on Netflix Philippines. What’s a girl got to do but to look for other streaming services, right?

I subscribed to HBO Go Asia. A good investment too! (Only if you haven’t tried this one yet. *wink wink*) There are a lot of good movies, especially horror ones! Not long after, we ran out of movies to watch again.

You might think that I spend a lot on such a superficial thing. But you see, I’m almost losing my mind because of this pandemic, LOL (not LOL). And watching movies is what I do to cope. So to each her own.

So,

How did I unlock all movies on Netflix?

This is where Surfshark entered the picture.

Surfshark is a VPN. Basically, a VPN allows you to create a secure connection to another network over the Internet. VPNs can be used to access region-restricted websites, shield your browsing activity from — you know what? I won’t bore you with this.

If you are on To Do Things Easy, chances are, you are also someone who wants to skip all the complicated parts and go straight to the answer. I don’t want to shove these technical things down your throat as I want to keep this blog as simple as possible.

Let us get straight to the point – you cannot do this for free. Believe me when I say that I might be the most Free Trialer there is (yes, I might have invented a new word just now.) I live on free trials. LOL. And when I really, really loved the product, that’s only when I would let these rich people get richer. But this one might be my best investment this pandemic.

So, why Surfshark? Honestly, I don’t know. I just saw good reviews and gave it a try. I have no prior experience when it comes to VPNs so I don’t have anything else to compare to. I was looking for ways to unlock movies from other countries, I tried Surfshark, and it delivered. Surfshark lives up to my standards so why not share it, right?

After I bought a Surfshark subscription, I just realized how much we were ROBBED!

I think Netflix Philippines offers only 5% of the movies in the whole Netflix universe!

How much did I pay to unlock all movies on Netflix?

I paid 2,976 PHP for Surfshark. However, this amount most probably will change as the exchange rate is ever-changing. But I think you’ll spend around that amount as well.

Okay – before you overreact, I know 2,976 PHP is not a cheap price for movies only. But you see, this amount covers 24 months. Yes, that’s 2 whole years. If you calculate how much you’d have to pay per month, it amounts to 124 PHP. And I can live with that because I used to pay for an HBO GO Asia subscription. After discovering how much power Surfshark holds, I immediately dropped my other subscriptions as Netflix has everything now.

Back to the pricing, you need to pay the whole 59.76 USD upfront but I see no harm, honestly. As I have tried it already, I can safely say that Surfshark is worth every peso.

Another win – you can use this on unlimited devices. My account is already being used by five mobile phones, one iPad, and two TVs. As I have said, my best investment so far.

Some screenshots to give you a peek

I personally connect most to Netflix United States and Japan.

United States for Hollywood movies and series.

Japan for anime! A warning though – some titles are in Japanese characters. So you might have to rely on pictures only unless you know the language.

If you reached this far, thank you! This is my first ever blog post.

Anyway, I wrote this because… back when I was checking out how to access more movies and series on Netflix, I wished there was a simple article like this somewhere. LOL. Hope I helped!
